You know when a pet truly becomes part of the family when you give it a DOG PARTY.
A few weeks ago, we celebrated Zoe being with us for exactly one year. We think she's around 2yrs of age but we've decided to make her birthday date the day she moved in with us.
As we all know, kids need things to do over the long summer holidays. Way back in July, Jessie had the idea to plan a party for Zoe and invite all our 'dog friends'. Here is the planning sheet diligently prepared by Jessie, with all details including invitees, dog games, food, gifts and prizes:
So with great anticipation the day arrived. Guests turned up with dogs in tow (some enthusiastic, and others not so convinced about the concept!). Overall a great afternoon was had by all, apart from the numerous cats who inhabit the Ukrainian embassy next door. The cats decided that discretion was the better part of valour and adopted a low profile for the afternoon. Festivities concluded with a 'dog cake' that Jessie had baked for the actual dogs themselves (based on a recipe from the internet)!
