Anna turns 3

Cooking with mum, a favourite activity
Last weekend we celebrated a third birthday for Anna.  The celebration was made even more special by having Ross' sister Heather with us.  Anna has become quite the character as she has grown over the past 12 months.  Arguably the most stubborn of our four children, she seems to have all of us wrapped around her finger and delights in making life as difficult as possible when it comes to a) eating b) sleeping c) choosing clothes and d) basically being asked to do anything she doesn't want to do.  Anna currently has a 'star chart' for her willingness to try new foods.  We have lowered the bar to such an extent, that the most recent star she received was actually for being brave enough to wave at a pea on her plate, let alone come anywhere close to eating it!  Small steps I guess.  But overall she is a delight, and we can't quite believe that our youngest is already three.

Birthday morning for Anna
Things have started to warm up in Cyprus over the last few weeks.  We've spent the last few weekends at the coast, but did manage to sneak in one final trip to the mountains to see the last of the snow for this year.  It's also been lovely to have a number of visitors with us.  Other general news from our end: work has been very busy for Ross over the last few months with a restructure, but it's been good to not have too much travel of late.  Sarah has been doing some more resilience talks at various schools in Nicosia which she has been enjoying.  The kids are all happy at school and are looking forward to the long summer break to come.

Only a few weeks until Eurovision.  Perhaps another blog about this shortly.....

  1. Happy Birthday Anna. That list sounds remarkably similar to our 2.5 year old on a bad day. Only, I don't think the promise of a star would result in Katelyn tolerating a pea remaining on her plate!
